Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta has lost around $3 billion after Facebook and Instagram outages around the world on Tuesday.
According to India Today, due to the shutdown of Meta’s social media platforms Facebook and Instagram on March 5 worldwide, the company has lost around three billion dollars.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder, chairman and CEO of Meta, lost $2.79 billion in one day, after which he has a net worth of $176 billion, but he is still the world’s richest person. He is the fourth richest person.

Meta’s stock fell 1.6 percent during the trading session on March 5, according to Nasdaq.
According to the British news agency Reuters, the service of Meta’s social media and messaging platform WhatsApp Business was also affected during the shutdown of Facebook and Instagram.
On Tuesday, the service of Facebook, Threads, Messenger and Instagram was suspended for 30 minutes worldwide and millions of user accounts were automatically logged out.
Elon Musk, owner of the social networking website X (Twitter) and SpaceX company, also humorously took to his arch-rival over the service outage on Metta’s social media platforms.

It should be noted that in February 2024, Mark Zuckerberg’s wealth (net worth) increased by $27 billion, after which his total wealth reached $169.5 billion.
